Length: Look at the guideline below to determine the minimum amount of slides required

Length of Presentation: Minimum 3:00 min. -- Maximum 4:00 min.

1) Title Screen (Name of phobia chosen, picture, your name) - 1 slide
2) Definition of your phobia (intro) - 1 slide
3) Symptoms - (1-2 slides)
4) Cures & Treatments - (1-3 slides)
5) Coping with the phobia - (1-2 slides)
6) Interesting Facts, Videos, etc. - your choice (enough to make your presentation effective)
7) Wrap Up - we talked about this in class (be creative…you choose the amount of slides that you feel will enhance/improve your presentation...this section concludes your presentation)
8) Bibliography - make sure you have this as your final slide (a bibliography shows all the resources/sources that you used in your project.

"Persuasive Letter": from the assignment handout/guideline, please complete the following:
  • 2 Brainstorm pages: 1 page for the FOR (Yes side) and 1 page for the AGAINST (No side)
  • Position page: this is the page where you write down your 3 strongest points for each side and at the bottom of the page you are going to tell me what side (position) you chose to defend and why you chose that side
  • Rough Copy: you can start writing your rough copy...even better, you can finish it if you want
  • ***REMEMBER: You need an INTRO, 3 BODY PARAGRAPHS, and a CONCLUSION (look at the example persuasive letter that we made in class together)

(a) Journal #9 (TITLE: The night the creatures arrived) -- Topic: One night, you were walking home with 3 people. Suddenly, you heard some weird noises around the corner. You turn around and you realize that there are 100 creatures chasing you. They look extremely ugly and dangerous. What are you going to do??? Remember the 3 people walking with you? Well, you get to choose your team...1 person is a classmate from our class, 1 is a celebrity, and the other 1 is anyone of your choice. Please create a short story...be creative! Remember, no weapons or gore in your story!

(b) Debate Arguments -- write down at least 3 Pros (For, YES) and 3 Cons (Against, NO) for the following topic: "Should there be VIDEO SURVEILLANCE on school property?" ---- THIS IS TO BE COMPLETED IN YOUR LANGUAGE NOTEBOOK (the Longer notebook)

As promised, here are the instructions for putting together your "Theme Binder". What is the purpose of the binder? Primarily, it will help you become more organized. You will be placing tests, quizzes, assignments, handouts given by the school, etc.

3. PRINTOUTS of the titles and pictures of your theme

For the PRINTOUTS, please make sure you have the following:

  • Math
  • Language
  • History
  • Science

  • Media
I already showed you how to place the titles above on word. DO NOT FORGET that each category/subject needs a picture with it based on your theme.
